| Steel Bed Construction: |
Three-quarters inch (3/4") steel is flame cut and stress
relieved. The bed is ground on both sides for flatness. Six bearings
guide the press bed to maintain accurate movement of the bed
through the machine. |
| Top Roller Diameter: |
Eight and one-half inches (8-1/2") |
| Top Roller Construction: |
The top roller is 8-1/2" x 22-1/2" extra heavy
duty steel tubing. It is fabricated and has two 5/8" steel
plates welded on both ends with a welded shaft that is approximately
two inches in diameter. The top roller, machined to exacting
tolerances to allow for a superior printing machine, is mounted
in self-aligning ball bearing units. |
| Bottom Roller Diameter: |
Four and one-half inches (4-1/2") |
| Bottom Roller Construction: |
Heavy duty steel tubing 4-1/2" diameter is machined
to exacting tolerances to allow for a superior printing machine.
The bottom roller is supported by two self-aligning ball bearing
units. These bearings, chosen for their durabilty, are maintenance
free. |
| Frame: |
Consists of two sides that are flame cut out of 3/8"
steel plate. These two plates are then drilled and machined as
a unit to ensure exact and proper alignment. |
| Pressure System: |
Printing pressure is applied in the conventional method by
lowering the top roller onto the bed. Micrometers are supplied
with each press at no charge to fine adjust the roller so that
it is parallel with the bed. The upper roller can be raised to
approximately two inches above the press bed. |
| Drive System: |
The ease of hand cranking under any pressure is obtained
by our superior gear reduction system that is enclosed in a custom
cast bronze wheel. |
| Finish: |
We use an automotive type of finish that is a three step
process which consists of special cleansers, special primers
and a special paint called Imron, a Dupont product. This paint,
a two-part polyurethane which ensures a durable hard finish,
is used by manufacturers of custom automobile and airplane bodies.
We go through this labor intensive process to ensure that you
have a unique custom quality finish that will endure for years
and years. Either polished aluminum or polished bronze are used
for the other exposed metal parts. |
| Bed Safety Stops: |
We have two aluminum safety stops on either end of the bed
that act as a mechanical stop. These stops are aluminum so they
are softer than the steel bottom roller that it comes in contact
with. In addition, we have a two and one-half inch aluminum round
plate that prevents the press bed from tipping out. For example,
if you were to raise the top roller as high as it would go, it
would be impossible for the bed to drop out due to the safety
stops. |
